Nokia mengumumkan sebuah handphone baru yang jika dilihat spesifikasinya secara sekilas mungkin sudah ditunggu tunggu oleh banyak pengguna handphone di dalam dan diluar negeri. Nokia 6120 Classic memiliki disain bodi yang sederhana, tipis, ringan tapi memiliki fasilitas dan fungsi yang cukup komplit termasuk dukungan jaringan 3G.

Mungkin Nokia sudah bingung dengan aturan pemberian nama handphone terbaru mereka, karena sebenarnya dulu sudah ada Nokia 6120 (handphone TDMA 800 / analog, http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/6120) yang bentuk dan fungsinya sudah kadaluarsa, Nokia sudah beberapa kali memberikan nama handphone daur ulang kepada beberapa handphone terbarunya, contoh lainnya adalah Nokia 6110 Navigator yang namanya juga merupakan duplikasi handphone kuno Nokia 6110 lalu Nokia 3110 yang barunya bernama Nokia 3110 Classic. Tujuan dan alasan penggunakan nama handphone daur ulang masih kurang jelas padahal masih banyak angka angka lain yang masih bisa digunakan oleh Nokia.

Secara sepintas mungkin bentuknya seperti Nokia 6233, tapi 6120 Classic merupakan sebuah ponsel smartphone jadi pastinya bagi yang suka dengan handphone Nokia 6233 maka kemungkinan besar sangat suka dengan 6120 Classic karena fungsinya menjadi bertambah apalagi dengan dukungan 3G HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) yang bisa digunakan untuk modem koneksi Internet berkecepatan kira kira 10x lebih cepat dari WCDMA.

Versi OS (Operating System) yang digunakan N6120 Classic tidak tanggung-tanggung yaitu Symbian v9.2 (S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1) yang saat ini adalah versi paling terakhir yang sudah keluar, hal ini berarti N6120 dapat menggunakan banyak aplikasi dan game yang akan datang. Dari segi umur pemakaian, kemungkinan besar N6120 tidak akan cepat dilupakan atau tidak berguna karena bentuknya yang candibar merupakan bentuk handphone yang berumur panjang kecuali rusak akibat kena air, terjatuh atau tertekan pecah.

Kualitas layar N6120 dinilai bagus karena beresolusi besar dan memiliki kualitas warna 24 bits (16 juta warna) yang setara dengan monitor komputer biasa. Kamera 2 mega pixel yang memiliki lampu flash dan fungsi pengambilan foto panorama yang artinya bisa mengambil foto yang berbentuk lebar atau bahkan bisa digunakan untuk mengambil gambar keliling 360 derajat. N6120 bisa mengirim dan menerima email yang memiliki attachment (terima / kirim file melalui email), kelengkapan fasilitas email ini dapat sangat membantu para pembisnis yang suka ber email ria apalagi ditambah dengan ukuran memori penyimpanan yang besar dan mendukung MicroSD 2GB. N6120 dapat digunakan untuk mentransfer data, synchronizing email, contact dan calender walaupun jika tidak di isi kartu SIM.

N6120 Classic diperkirakan akan diluncurkan kepasar pada semester ke dua (sekitar bulan juni) tahun 2007, harganya mungkin sekitar 260 Euro atau sekitar 3.211.000 (€ 260 x Rp 12.350) rupiah. Motorola, Inc. baru saja meluncurkan RAZR2, telepon seluler (ponsel) berfitur ultimate iconic. Tiga handset terbaru seri RAZR2, yakni V9 (3G HSDPA), V9m (EVDO CDMA) dan V8 (GSM/EDGE) itu, akan tersedia di pasaran pada Juli 2007. Generasi terbaru dari seri RAZR ini akan mengusung fitur-fitur paling canggih seperti teknologi CrystalTalk, memori on-board hingga 2 GB, web browsing, video point-to-point realtime dan navigasi menu ultra-fast, yang semuanya dikemas ke dalam desain yang lebih tipis, kuat dan manis dipandang.

"Dengan gaya modern dan kinerja powerful yang dimiliki RAZR2, Motorola sekali lagi melakukan terobosan dalam desain dan teknologi ponsel," ujar Chairman dan Chief Executive Officer Motorola, Ed Zender.

RAZR2 ini secara dimensi, dibandingkan seri yang sama sebelumnya adalah, lebih tipis 2 milimeter. Sementara untuk tubuh ponsel, bagian utama RAZR2 adalah sebuah rangka internal yang terbuat dari stainless steel yang kuat dan tahan lama. Selain itu, lensa eksterior terbuat dari kaca yang diperkeras agar lebih tahan gores. Kemudahan pada tubuh ponsel lainnya, yakni casing yang dapat dibuka dan ditutup. Untuk itu Motorola telah menguji engsel yang terbuat dari aluminium, pada lebih dari 100.000 tes laboratorium untuk memastikan bahwa setiap kali konsumen membuka flip-nya tidak akan pernah ada gangguan.

Sementara untuk software, akan menggunakan Linux/JavaTM5. Ponsel ini juga akan menampilkan User Interface (UI) yang didesain ulang secara menyeluruh, sehingga konsumen dapat mencari nama dalam phonebook dengan lebih cepat. Fitur ini juga mencegah adanya duplikasi nama dalam phonebook, namun memungkinkan bagi satu nama untuk mempunyai lebih dari satu nomor telepon. Menu utamanya dapat disesuaikan, sehingga konsumen tidak perlu melakukan klik lebih dari 2-3 kali untuk mengakses aplikasi favoritnya, dan bahkan komunikasi teks pun menjadi sangat mudah. RAZR2 secara otomatis akan mengenali tipe pesan yang dikirim konsumen. Ponsel ini juga dilengkapi prosesor berkecepatan tinggi ARM 11 (500MHz) yang baru, kecepatan proses lebih cepat 10 kali dari RAZR seri awal.

Fitur lainnya yakni teknologi CrystalTalk TM1 Motorola yang inovatif dalam RAZR2 yang secara otomatis akan menyesuaikan audio untuk memastikan suara yang jernih bahkan dalam suasana yang ramai.

Ponsel RAZR2, V8 juga dapat "berbicara" kepada konsumen untuk membantu memilih menu interaktif, menyebutkan nama dalam daftar phonebook, membaca e-mail atau pesan singkat.

Tanpa membuka telepon, pengguna RAZR2 dapat mengandalkan layar eksternal yang besar untuk membaca pesan dan mengirim balasan dengan pesan teks yang telah diprogram sebelumnya.

Berkapasitas memori hingga 2 GB, lagu-lagu dari RAZR2 dapat dinikmati dengan teknologi nirkabel Bluetooth, selain itu kapasitas simpannya cukup untuk kurang lebih 1.000 lagu.

Kompatibilitas Microsoft Windows Media Player 11 memungkinkan konsumen dengan mudah membeli, sinkronisasi dan mentransfer koleksi musik mereka ke dalam RAZR2 hanya dalam beberapa menit. Sementara dengan RAZR2 V9 (3G HSDPA) musik dapat di-download secara nirkabel dengan kecepatan transfer data mendekati broadband.

Selain itu layar eksternalnya mengakomodasi teknologi "haptics" yang revolusioner, yaitu merespon berupa getaran terhadap sentuhan jari penggunanya. Teknologi ini dikombinasikan dengan tombol musik virtual yang memungkinkan pengguna mengontrol musik mereka dengan sangat mudah.

Sedangkan untuk kamera yang ada pada ponsel ini adalah kamera 2,0 megapixel, yang secara otomatis kemampuan memotretnya akan mengambil delapan gambar sehingga pengguna dapat memilih gambar terbaik dari gambar-gambar tersebut.

RAZR2 V9 (3G HSDPA) memiliki fitur video real-time point-to-point yang memungkinkan pelanggan lain untuk melakukan "See What I See" saat melakukan percakapan telepon. Fitur baru ini akan tersedia dengan kapasitas memori hingga 2 GB, memungkinkan konsumen merekam dan menyimpan video berdurasi 2 jam dalam ponsel.

Nokia 8600 Luna

Jakarta, Nokia memperkenalkan tiga jajaran ponsel terbarunya, dua model untuk kelas mid-range dan satu model untuk kelas high-end.

Untuk kelas high-end, ada si cantik Nokia 8600 'Luna'. Dari sisi tampilan, Luna tampil elegan dengan balutan casing stainless steel (tahan karat). Ponsel ini dilengkapi port single micro-USB yang memungkinkan konsumen mempersingkat aktivitas seperti charging, konektivitas audio dan data kedalam satu koneksi.

Luna, seperti dikutip detikINET dari IT Wire, Sabtu (2/6/2007), merupakan ponsel slide quad-band yang berjalan di GSM. Sejumlah fitur menghiasi ponsel ini antara lain kamera 2 megapiksel, konektivitas bluetooth dan inbuilt FM radio. Ponsel berbobot 143 gram dan ukuran 107 x 45 x 16 mm ini akan segera dilepas secara eceran mulai Juni dengan harga sekitar 700 Euro (belum termasuk pajak dan subsidi).

Lanjut ke kelas mid-range, ada Nokia 6500 Classic, ponsel tipis bermode quad-band yang mendukung teknologi generasi ketiga (3G) dan dilengkapi konektor micro-USB serta kamera 2 megapiksel. Ponsel berukuran 9,5 mm ini diklaim sebagai salah satu ponsel tertipis Nokia.

Dilansir Reuters, Nokia 6500 Classic rencananya akan dilepas ke toko-toko pada kuartal tiga 2007 dengan harga eceran 320 Euro (belum termasuk pajak dan subsidi).

Selain Nokia 6500 Classic, hadir juga ponsel Nokia 6500 Slide. Ponsel ini merupakan ponsel 3G dan dilengkapi kamera 3.2 megapiksel, inbuilt FM radio. Ponsel berukuran 16,4 mm ini kabarnya akan dijual dengan harga 370 Euro mulai kuartal tiga tahun ini

Perusahaan pembuat mobil Aston Martin dan perusahaan pembuat telepon seluler Nokia bekerja sama dalam membuat edisi terbatas Nokia 8800 Aston Martin, telepon seluler GSM tiga band. Telepon seluler yang dibatasi pembuatannya sebanyak 250 unit dihiasi dengan grafir logo dan tulisan Aston Martin pada sarung penutup atau casing yang terbuat dari bahan baja antikarat atau stainless steel. Dan, pada setiap unit telepon seluler edisi terbatas Nokia 8800 Aston Martin tertera nomor serial, misalnya 086 of 250 atau unit ke 86 dari 250 unit.

Edisi terbatas Nokia 8800 Aston Martin itu dijual di dealer Aston Martin dengan harga 800 poundsterling, belum termasuk pajak. Telepon seluler berprofil tipis itu dilengkapi dengan kamera SVGA dengan layar display 208 x 208 piksel yang dapat difungsikan untuk gambar dan film. Nokia 8800 juga dilengkapi pemutar musik digital yang dapat memainkan format AAC dan MP3 dengan memori internal 64MB.
