*excuse my English… :">

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = == = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

let’s start:

Bahasa Indonesia:
Bapak saya mau ke pasar. Tetapi dia lupa membawa uang.

English:
My father wants to go to the market, but he forgets to bring money

:D:D

My father wants to go to the market, but he forgets to bring money

He wants to go but he forgets to bring money? He haven't gone to the market right?

I think it should be better if said : My father wanted to go to the market, but he forgot to bring the money.

He wants to go but he forgets to bring money? He haven't gone to the market right?

I think it should be better if said : My father wanted to go to the market, but he forgot to bring the money.

It means gramatically correct but logically not..., doesnt it?

hehehe... thanks! yes correct... >:D<
opps perhaps others have different opinion???

btw, next Challenge:

Bahasa Indonesia:

Marilah memainkan peran kita sebaik-baiknya, tidak usah terlalu banyak mengeluh soal adil tidaknya rasa hidup kita
(http://danalingga.wordpress.com/2009/02/10/dunia-memang-tidak-adil/)

English:

Let’s play our own role properly, and do not make too many complaints about how fair or unfair our life is.

Regards,
a SAP lover

Yours is grammatically right, but I challenge the diction. I prefer this:
Let's play our own role with our best, don't make (too many) complaints of how fair or not our life is.

you can strip the "too many". This isn't Indonesian :)

hey..this is interesting... why we need to express it in local culture (indo) context?

hope I am not misunderstanding...:
I assume that you suggested me to be aware of local culture (indo) -
when I try to express something in English.

It means the following ways of learning English, you prefer no.2,right?:

=====================================================

1. To Understand the English Culture Well Is Important to Learn English
- learning to speak another language (english) involves taking on some of the language's culture (british/us)

have a look at
http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/talk/questions/second-language-second-culture
http://www.linguist.org.cn/doc/su200603/su20060313.pdf

OR

2. Learn english by using our own culture context
have a look at http://training.we-develop-leaders.com/mt/blog/2008/09/teaching-english-in-context.html

*have a look the following thread as well

aha... thanks for the challenge.. ;)

what about "word usage" challenge :)

pls read my argumentation below:
*hope u understand my point

Related to obeying the norms, rules, values

1. “properly” has a broader scope compared to “with our best

2. Behaving at our best does NOT mean obeying the norms, rules and values.
But
“Properly” means we behave properly in terms of norms, rules, and values… (NOT ONLY at our best)

3.“with our best” means the best in our point of view but not necessary in society’s point of view…
But
Properly means in 'line with' society’s point of view...

and..the next challenge... have a look below

next challenge:

Bahasa Indonesia:

ENGLISH:

An organisation’s efficiency depends on the alignment of processes, systems, and people with each other.
Therefore, like it or not, implementing SAP brings together the three disciplines that seem at first glance to have nothing to do with one another…
If one of these three elements falls short, the remaining two cannot make up the difference.

Change management during SAP implementations is located at the intersection of those elements

We may be aware that not all SAP projects are successful and that Return on Investment is sometimes far from being sufficient. On the other hand, there are organizations that have tremendously increased their profits thanks to SAP .

So “what is the difference between success and failure”???

we soon find out that the losers mistakenly assumed that the scope is only that of SOFTWARE INSTALLATION…

And the norms, rules, and values among all people are relative.
Only one that isn't.
One's act may be proper to some people, but some may not think so. Easiest example, a counter terrorist unit are trained to prevent terrorism act, for the sake of the country's safety. If they must break the law, in order to prevent the terrorism act, they will do so. That's what we call "adaptation". It may be "proper" for a counter terrorist unit agent, but the court won't think so. The agent may be charged for "committing law breaking".

As for the text, here's my modification:
An organization’s efficiency depends on the alignment of processes, systems, and people with each other.
Therefore, like it or not, implementing SAP brings the three disciplines together that seem at first glance to have nothing to do with one another…
If one of these three elements falls short, the remaining two cannot make up the difference.
Progress management during SAP implementations is located at the intersection of those elements.

I see you mixed US and UK spellings.
btw, what is SAP anyway?

What a surprise....
I try to find a teacher or private teacher for helping me in wrtiting skill.
I think i found it here.<:-P

r u sure, you really dunno about SAP?

That's why perhaps u dunno "Change Management"
That's why u changed "Change Management" to "Process Management" (see the challenge I quoted above)

and the text's title is "SAP Change Management"... ;)

As far as I know...Change Management is a jargon in IT implementation including ERP (SAP)

but SAP implementation is more than just IT things (explained in the text above)

That's why in SAP world, we define:
-Functional Consultant : related to business process
-Technical Consultant : replated to SAP IT

Actaully SAP is one of ERP application.

The closest rival for SAP is Oracle E-Business Suite

----------------------------

ERP?

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is an enterprise-wide information system designed to coordinate all the resources, information, and activities needed to complete business processes such as order fulfillment or billing.

The SAP ERP application is an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) software manufactured by SAP AG that targets business software requirements of midsize and large organizations in all industries and sectors. It is the successor product to SAP R/3.

There are many products and modules than we can find at SAP-AG products...

some SAP Indonesia customers:

ok... time of GRAMMAR Challenge

next grammar (including word usage) challenge:

in Bahasa Indonesia:

In ENglish:
Today, in most large and medium-sized enterprises, there are few business processes that are not driven by computers. Then this drives the changes of audit techniques.
The approaches of information system auditing are classified into three aspects:

1. Audit around the computer
This method is used by Auditors who merely investigate input and output data.

2. Audit through the computer
This approach means auditors investigate the process of IS

3. Audit with the computer
The method is improving the audit efficiency and quality by using CAAT (computer Assisted Audit Techniques)

again, if u think the challenge is too long then u can take a part of it...
then we discuss your suggestion...

thanks for the participation
