I just want to express my concern as to how an erroneous banner saying "Merry Christmast..." and "May all the joy of Christmast..." can go unnoticed (or noticed but ignored) in a sub forum called "English Support (!!!)" for over a month.
I'm not interested in addressing the spelling weaknesses of certain individuals nor criticizing them; I'm more concerned of the fact that all you IFers are so apathetic about this. I guess it's the Indonesian way - criticism is such a taboo here, right?
Please feel free to post your excuses, people.
How should we argue about that? It is absolutely "Christmas" not "Christmast"! I believe Adobe still haven't insert the spell checking module into Flash?
Whaddya mean "even"? Are you saying Flamers have to be perfect spellers? Not necessarily; most fast arguers aren't good spellers - they want to type so fast they don't know what they're typing.
The ones who should be perfect spellers are English Support mods, and the ones who should be super-responsive upon error findings are English Supporters! This is the very reason I started this thread in the first place.
I agree with Calvin, that's not worth arguing dude. It's like arguing over what salt tastes like - salty or sweet? Junior high teacher and students arguing over that? Gimme a break....
Remember "batman begins"?, "batman returns"? Did you ever hear "batman is begin"?, "batman is return"?
Learning a language is about imitating, so if you hate grammar books, keep your eyes and ears sharp and try to imitate anything coming from native speakers (movies, songs, etc.) instead .
